ABOUT THE
KOLEL

Founded at the behest of the Rebbe in 5722 (1962), Kollel Menachem was the first Kollel in Lubavitch history.

It began with a small group of newly married men learning in the women’s section of the shul at ‘770’ and quickly became a central hub of Torah study and scholarship within the Chabad-Lubavitch community.

Under the Rebbe’s direct guidance, members of the Kollel were entrusted over the years with numerous scholarly research and publishing projects for the benefit of the wider Lubavitch community.

From its inception, the Rebbe personally oversaw its standards and upkeep, ensuring that the Kollel maintained the highest level of excellence in Torah scholarship.

Today, Kollel Menachem continues to serve as a premier institution for advanced Torah study, upholding the Rebbe’s vision of rigorous scholarship and providing Lubavitch newly married men with a solid foundation of learning and life before they embark on their roles in the wider community.
